Accessible travel

We want everyone travelling to enjoy a comfortable and stress-free journey.

All Wightlink routes offer accessible travel facilities for passengers with reduced mobility. Passengers travelling with wheelchairs, mobility scooters or other mobility aids can remain with their equipment throughout their journey. If assistance is required when boarding, disembarking or moving around the vessel, our teams are on hand to help.

For passengers travelling by coach, our vehicle ferries are equipped with lifts between the vehicle deck and passenger areas. During the crossing, passengers use the onboard passenger lounges, and our crew are available to assist those who need help travelling between the coach and passenger decks.

If any passengers in your group have accessibility requirements, we ask that any accessibility or mobility requirements are declared at the time of booking. Advance notice helps us ensure suitable space, assistance and arrangements are in place, avoiding delays and ensuring a comfortable experience for all passengers.

Accessibility onboard

  • Accessible toilets are available on our ferries.
  • Lifts are available on our vehicle ferries, allowing passengers to access passenger lounges and facilities during the crossing.
  • Designated accessible seating areas are available onboard.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome on all Wightlink services.
  • FastCat foot passengers can benefit from step-free access

Large groups of passengers

If you’re travelling in a group of 20 or more, you’ll need to get in touch with our Business Hub team to discuss your transport needs at [email protected] or 02392 855260.

We regularly take large groups across the Solent, working with schools to support educational trips and accommodation and attraction providers to help with tour groups. Whatever your group travel needs, we’re here to help.
